Steliana Nistor (born September 15, 1989 in Sibiu, Romania) is a Romanian artistic gymnast, who has medaled at the World and European Championships. She is the youngest of three children born to Dumitru and Steliana, having two older brothers.
In 1994 Steliana began training in gymnastics. Her first coach was Raluca Bugner (who also coached Sabina Cojocar). Steliana showed great talent and aptitude for gymnastics and quickly advanced to elite level.
In 2002 she joined the national team at Deva and began being trained by Nicolae Forminte (who previously trained Olympic medalist Simona Amanar).
Since joining the national Romanian team, she has helped them win several medals at the international level, including the European and World Championships. She also won individual medals in all-round competitions and apparatus finals. Her favorite apparatus is uneven bars. She also does well on beam but she dislikes the event.
Currently Steliana is working towards the 2008 Olympic Games.
